First Aid Course at Thirlmere - 14 Jan 17

(8 places left.)

By popular request the CSC will be holding another First Aid Course.  Pete Cunningham and Dave Watts will be looking at First Aid particularly for paraglider pilots: scene management, trauma, fancy wound treatments etc.

The course is subsidised by the CSC and will be held at Thirlmere Recreation Room/Village Hall, just on A591, between Keswick & Thirlmere on Saturday 14th January 2017.

It’s a full day. £10 for members, (was £25 for non-members - but now available at the reduced rate of £10 for everyone). Whilst this course doesn't give you a First Aid ticket, it does give you fantastic preparation for dealing with an accident on the hill and helping your friends...

For those of you who haven't managed to do the course before, here's what people have said about it:

"I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a professionally run First Aid course aimed at pilots...If you were unable to attend this year, and the Club put one on next year, please get on it"

"A really valuable worthwhile course that I think any paraglider pilots should consider doing"

Thirlmere Recreation Hall

Doors open at 9.30 with a view to starting at 10.  There'll be coffee and tea available - you'll have to bring it yourself if you want anything stronger!  There is a kitchen if anyone wants to make a bacon butty for lunch - there's nowhere around to buy a sarnie, I'm afraid.  There is plenty of parking and level access round the south side of the building.

£10 - pay on the day.

Email back if you need directions - although it’s pretty obvious – it’s at the junction of the St Johns in the Vale Road (B5322) and the A591, near the Lodge in The Vale.
